Envelope Printing – a Constant Challenge

XCM-PSFOA8gIEEbNXQmcNB1AtXs92ydZnRAP3bGiewgCan My Copier Print on Envelopes?

We have often received the question of whether a customer’s copier can print on envelopes. Except for rare situations, the answer will normally be yes with today’s technology. When it comes to envelopes, they have historically been an uncomfortable topic for the copier industry because some machines can handle them well while others were a nightmare that could not do more than one at a time. In the beginning, digital copiers would jam with envelopes or end up wrinkled when it did work.

Today, most models can copy on envelopes through the side of the bypass tray. Nevertheless, we still only encourage customers to use this sporadically because if this is what you need regularly, you should find a machine with a dedicated envelope feeding tray. For the most part, it is a new option that will convert one of the paper drawers into a handling location for #10 business envelopes. The amount that they can hold will vary, but most can only hold around 30 envelopes.

With customers who will need this as a primary function, we recommend our customers to buy an envelope feeder for a desktop network laser printer. Why? This option will give you a much shorter path for paper, which will let customers have increased reliability with their machine. You will find that some of the envelope feeders will even feature a rear exit tray. This guarantees output with perfect conditions.

The Xerox WorkCentre 7835 seems to be an ideal copier when it comes to doing envelopes (as much as that is possible).  Give us a call today to discuss your copier needs.
