What to Know about Shipping a Copier
If you are nearing the end of your copier lease then it’s important to look closely at what’s expected of you. Many people only pay attention to the beginning and middle of their leases so they don’t get charged. But there is still room on the backend for copier leasing companies to mess with you. It’s important to know what to do at the end of your lease.
Many people take the end of their lease for granted. They think the lease will just end and their leasing company will pack up and ship your copier away for them. Leases often do not work that way. The end of the lease is usually left up to the customer to take care of, and this does include shipping the copier back.
When figuring out what to know about shipping a copier, you should understand why copier leasing companies make you ship the copier yourself.
Like we said before, many people do not know that they will be responsible for shipping the copier. This can cost hundreds of dollars that you weren’t planning on spending. Leasing companies use this as leverage to try and get you to make a deal with them. They will basically say, “alright, we will ship the copier back for free if you make another lease with our leasing company.”
They are essentially backing you into a wall and making you work with them again to save yourself money. This is a nasty tactic that we do not believe in at Salt Lake City Copier. We believe in laying all the facts out there so that you are on the same page as we are.
Don’t let copier leasing companies take you for a ride. Look at your lease and find out what to do when shipping your copier. If it’s specifically in your lease that the company will take care of it then you are probably fine. If not, it may be time to start researching how to move your copier back, without being taken advantage of.
